I remember the first time I met Lori at Bernabi, what an amazing person! I am very saddened by her passing, but comforted in knowing what a positive impact she had in my life, and all that were lucky enough to know her. You are all in my prayers

We are all so saddened to learn of Lori's passing, though, like those of you who who cared for her during her illness, we take some solace in the fact that her suffering has at last come to an end. As with most college friendships, time and distance conspired against us, and we were never again as close to Lori as we were in those heady days in Ithaca, when she first brightened our lives. Not having kept in close contact, it's interesting to read the testimonials entered here to Lori's beautiful spirit, her capacity for love, her abiding faith, her gentle soul - all qualities that were so readily apparent to anyone fortunate enough to have known her a long time ago. Over the years, in our minds, anyway, Lori has always been that same twenty-two-year-old young women we said good-bye to at graduation, so full of life and full of promise. How wonderful and reassuring to read in your remembrances that her life was indeed full, and that she fulfilled her promise in every way. Please accept our heartfelt condolences for your loss, and know that she and you will always remain in our thoughts and prayers.

I am so sorry as I just found out of your loss of such a beautiful woman inside & out!! I saw Lori in Wegmans not to long ago, and she carried that same warm smile that she always has. Lori not only touched my life @ Bernabi School but all four of our childrens as well. Her patience, caring and love was always there for them and anyone else that came in contact with her. Lori was the essence of Bernabi School. There was always time in her world for any person, big or little, who came to her door to ask for help, insight or even just a handful of candy and yes, even Wheat Thins. She could soothe the most troubled child with what I called, "Lori words". Her love for Bernabi School was contagious and gave us the strength to advocate for what was right for its children, even when it meant bending a rule or two or…three. Sharing just a small part of her world with us brought calm and assurance to our souls.
Lori had the ability to inspire others simply through her example. She had a gentle strength that we knew at Bernabi while it often confused others. She guided and never preached, trusted and never spoke unkindly, dried our tears and shared in our joys. Lori's spirit is what made all of us better beings. Her calming hand on a child's shoulder, reassuring words to a concerned parent and endless support for Bernabi's teachers anchored our school with a joyful confidence that no other could approach.
Don, DJ, David and Julie: Lori wasn't boastful, but when she spoke of you and your individual accomplishments, her smile reflected such pride. While her physical presence is gone, her love for you will thrive in the core of your souls. Please know that it is an honor for me to have known her.

I did not know Lori personally, but she made an everlasting impact on our lives in a few short months. Our youngest son was a kindergartner at the Leo Bernabi School five years ago. He was not happy about going to school all day and we had a very difficult time getting him on the bus and he would cry pretty much the entire day at school. After about a week we figured that we needed some help with this and called Lori. She couldn't have been more understanding and warm even though she had probably dealt with on a daily basis you'd never know it! Without her calm, nurturing manner I don't think we could get him through the day. Lori was meeting Gianni at the bus and making sure he was okay for the walk to class. One day in particular, he told me "I was fine mom, Mrs. Pillittere was at the bus waiting for me and she held my hand all the way to class". She had a sweetness, a gentleness, and a way with the kids at Leo Bernabi that is very rare. We will forever remember her for the guiding hand she gave to our son.
Praying for your family at this difficult time.
The Pellett Family (Gene, Sharon, Gino & Gianni).

Lori and I were childhood friends. She was full of light and laughter. She was a gifted school counselor. I had the privilege to work in Spencerport from 2005-2008 when I moved home for a brief period. Her eyes still twinkled and her smile still glowed. We prayed for her week after week for about four years, as the St. John's Folk Group came together for the 5:00 mass. Heaven has a bright soul and we are missing an earthly angel. So sad. Love and peace to her precious family.
