What a wonderful Aunt and friend. I have such wonderful memories from when I was a child to the present. Aunt Frannie will be greatly missed but always loved. Will certainly miss her beautiful Birthday cards that she sent every year. She never forgot any of us with the cards. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Tongue and Gehring families at this difficult time. Love, Barb

Dear Cousins and families - Aunt Frannie was closest to my mother Agnes MacBlane Bates not only in years but sisterly love. I have wonderful memories of them together at our place on Keuka Lake; in Virginia; in Elmira; at the reunion. Time marches on but it doesn't stop the pain of missing those that we love. Please accept my deepest condolences on the loss of such a wonderful and gracious woman. I already miss the birthday cards she would send every year. And we will all miss her at the reunion. Thinking of you all at this difficult time - Karen

The Dishaw's and Tongue's were neighbors in Spencerport from before I was born until 1971 when we moved. I was 10 at the time, but I remember those days well, it was a magical time. I especially remember Mrs. Tongue, and even at that age I recognized the unbelieveable bond our two families shared. It might be a cliche, but it's true; a kinder, gentler soul would be difficult to find. Thanks to her, my Mom learned to cook (a blessing for me!). Thanks to her, her kids babysat for me (Ronnie was told not to take me to the large white church (name?) carnival, but he did anyway. My parents would never have found out had I not won the door prize!). Thanks to her, I had a second family I could be with, who would love me just as much as my own did. I was always welcome to come over to play with their dog (Queenie) or just have cookies. Of course there are other memories, too numerous to mention here. It's moments like these where you realize that your life is like a huge puzzle. And each piece of the puzzle is a person that you shared your life with. Sadly, my puzzle is now missing a piece and it can't be replaced. Thanks for everything Mrs. Tongue. God bless.
