Such a wonderful Mother...and friend. You will be missed by all that loved you so much. My thoughts and prayers are with Don, Kathy and Laura. God promises a soft landing, not a smooth passage. You will always have a part of my heart. Trish

I’ll miss Arlene very much. She was a devoted sister to my dad (Felix Landschoot), and a wonderful aunt to me and my brothers, sisters, and cousins. It’s sad to think she was the last member of the small family of John Landschoot and Mary Maslyn that resided in Clifton Springs New York during the 1920s, the Great Depression, and the WWII years. Her stories of growing up on the Rocky Run farm in the 1930s were captivating, and I’ve tried to pass them along to my daughter so that she will have some idea what life in a small town was like before the digital age. Arlene was the historian of the family and when I was interested in where all the Landschoots and Maslyns came from, she sat down with me and shared photographs, letters, genealogy trees, and her memories of relatives. She used to love sitting at her dining room table looking at old photos and reminiscing about her family and friends. Arlene had a big influence on my life and I loved visiting with her. The last time I saw her was almost exactly a year ago, just after my dad’s funeral and she was sharp, energetic, and sweet to everyone. That’s how I will always remember her. My sympathies go out to Don, Kathy, and Lori. I hope to see all of you soon. Pete
