Obituary of Marla Marie Hoomans

Left this world on October 30th, 2023 at the age of 76. She was born to Dorothy and Thomas Thibeault on April 20th, 1947, in Malone NY. After graduating from high school, she moved to Rochester, NY where she met her loving husband, John Hoomans. Together they had 2 children, Heather Goetzman and Hans (Bree) Hoomans.  

Marla was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend. She loved spending time working in her garden, quilting, decorating for the holidays and mostly Christmas.  She loved car rides and shared many special trips with her husband John. Marla spent her career working with disabled children, but her biggest accomplishment was her beautiful family and being known as the best Oma's ever to her 4 grandchildren Jakob and Ella Goetzman and Ashton and River Hoomans. The bond she shared with her family was one that everyone around her loved and enjoyed. She will continue her legacy of love through the life of her family and all that knew her. 

Calling hours will be held Saturday November 4th from 1-4 PM at Walker Brothers Funeral Home in Spencerport NY. A Church service will be held on Monday November 6th at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hilton NY, at 4 pm. Internment will be Tuesday November 7th at 10 am at Garland Cemetery in Brockport NY. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations in Marla's name to The Golisano Childrens Hospital in Rochester NY or the St. Paul Lutheran School in Hilton NY.
