Obituary of James Wiesner

Wiesner, James R. "Weezy" Spencerport: May 24, 2016 at age 75. Predeceased by his wife, Lois (Jackling) Wiesner. He is survived by his children, Gerald Wiesner, James (Mary) Woodfield; grandchildren, Robin, David and Timothy; brothers & sisters, Gerald, Jean, David; friends, Dan Frisbee and Peter McMann. James was a long member of Local 832. He was a Master Mechanic/Farmer. James' visitation will be on Tuesday from 5-8 pm at the funeral home, 15 West Ave. Spencerport. All are welcome to attend his graveside service on Wednesday at 10 am at Parma Corners Cemetery (1837 N. Union St.) In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in James' memory to the Spencerport Volunteer Ambulance, 116 Lyell Ave. Spencerport, NY 14559 James was born on October 26, 1940 to Frederick & Helen Wiesner. During his childhood, James grew up in Greece, NY and had fond memories of riding with his grandfather in his old medal farm truck to visit relatives. James grew up with 4 siblings, Gerald, Joseph, Jean and David. He also loved his uncle who lived in a brick house next door to his childhood home. James graduated from Edison Tech High School in 1958. He went on to work as a Mechanic and owned a shop with Jim Volkman. James eventually became a Master Mechanic and was an operator and member at Local 832. James was known to help others in his community and was acknowledged in newspaper articles for assisting victims of the Bushnell Basin Flood in the 1970's. James met his wife, Lois while enjoying an evening of square dancing. They went on to have two children, Gerald and James. James really liked to farm and fix peoples broken equipment and tractors. He enjoyed tinkering with any old pieces of equipment, such as engines. Everyday James had a routine of delivering vegetables to his friends that he grew and catch up on the daily news around town. He was known to be upfront, straight forward and have a strong opinion about any topic that he discussed. James will be missed by many family and friends and always lovingly remembered.
