Obituary of Phyllis A. Leathersich

Spencerport: April 20, 2019. Phyllis is predeceased by her husband Harry E. Leathersich; parents Albert & Catherine Heintz; sister-in-law Shirley Zastrocky. She is survived by 7 children, Scott (Janelle) Leathersich, Mark (Pam) Leathersich, Catherine (Stephen) Goodemote, Terry Leathersich, Lori (Kenny Morgante) Mingoea, Nancy (Christopher) Dunshie & David (Rachel) Leathersich; 16 Grandchildren; 17 Great-Grandchildren & 3 on the way; sister Betty (Robert) Carges; sisters-in-law, Sylvia Watson & Linda Burlingame;  brother-in-law, Donald (Nicolette) Leathersich; many nieces, nephews & friends; dear friends Marlene & Katie.


Phyllis’ life story will be shared during her visitation, Wednesday, April 24th, 3-7 PM at the funeral home, 15 West Ave. (Spencerport). Her Funeral Service will be celebrated Thursday, April 25th 10AM at the Funeral Home. Phyllis' burial in Fairfield Cemetery will be shared with her family only. Phyllis A. Leathersich Life Story

Phyllis was born in Rochester in the 10th ward, she was 1 of 2 children. She attended Holy Rosary for grade school and Nazareth Academy also Rochester Business Institute.  While at RBI, Phyllis met Harry Leathersich, which she married when she was 20 years old. They had 7 children and she regularly attended her children’s sports activities, dance recitals, graduations and weddings of her grandchildren.

Christmas Eve was always at Phyllis’s home and family reunions, all family gatherings were held there.

She was a 30 plus years season ticket holder of the Red Wings enjoyed Basketball and the Buffalo Bills games also was a Spencerport Sports Booster Club member.

Phyllis enjoyed game shows, music, the RPO and Christmas concerts also a fan of ice cream and nutty buddies.  She was serious, straight forward and believed in manners and was a very loving mother, grandmother, good friend to many, she will be greatly missed.
