Obituary of Kathy Blackburn

Kathy was surrounded by her family when she passed away on May 3, 2019 at the age of 70. Kathy is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Don Blackburn; children, Jeremy (Danielle) Blackburn and Angela (Angel Jr.) Diaz; grandchildren, Alexander Diaz, Mackenzie Blackburn and Kaitlyn Blackburn.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 7th, 10AM to 12PM at the funeral home, 15 West Ave. (Spencerport). Her Funeral Service will be celebrated Tuesday, May 7th 12PM at the Funeral Home. Internment to follow in Fairfield Cemetery. Those wishing may contribute to a charity of their choice in Kathy's memory.

In Kathy’s last days she continuously talked about having a party on the patio and having good times. Please dress casual as you were going to a picnic or wear something summery and join Don during the service on Tuesday.

 

Kathy was born on June 29, 1948 in Miami, Florida. She was a Teacher's Assistant and enjoyed helping the children. She married Don Blackburn on July 2, 1966 in Greece,NY at the Greece Baptist Church. They met through a mutual friend, Butch Bufford.  Butch brought Kathy to a party where Don was attending. Kathy and Don had two children; Jeremy and Angela.

 

Some of Kathy's hobbies were: collecting cherish teddies, anything Wizard of OZ, going to the casino, enjoy friends' company and spending time with family at gatherings.  Her favorite football team was the Buffalo Bills.  She loved reading Steven King books.  Kathy enjoyed visiting Maine and going to Disney.  

 

She was full of love and had a great sense of humor.  She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
