Obituary of Eleanor Ruth Fluman

SPENCERPORT – Ellie, at the age of 86, passed peacefully at her home on October 5, 2019. She is predeceased by her husband Robert Fluman; two children Jack Lyness and Irene Gaudioso; father of children Jack Lyness; parents Felix Schneider and Florence Weiman; and brothers Felix and Richard Schneider. She is survived by her children, Terri (Keith) Watson, Valerie Lyness, William Lyness and Maxine Wilkinson; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins & dear friends.


Ellie was born on August 27, 1933 in Rochester, NY, to parents Felix and Florence (Greer) Schneider. She attended John Marshall High School and later went on to work at Rochester Telephone as an operator.  She went on to provide in-home daycare and then was employed by Friendly Home as a nurse’s aid. 


Ellie always looked forward to visiting with family and friends. She enjoyed all holidays where family and friends gathered and enjoyed each other’s company. She would make large meals for everyone to enjoy.


Ellie’s hobbies included bingo, road trips, puzzles, shopping and playing cards with her friends. She loved to go out to eat and she never passed up desert. She loved her sweets, especially strawberry shortcake.


Her personality could best be described as loving, good sense of humor, generous, giving & caring. She will be loved and missed by all who knew her.


Ellie’s visitation will be Saturday, October 26, 2019 from 9:30 am – 10:30 am, with her funeral service at 10:30 am, both at the funeral home, 15 West Ave. Spencerport, NY, 14559. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice in Ellie's memory.
