Jim Byron was a really good friend of mine and I will miss him beyond imagine. He lived with an open heart and the type of friend who was always there for anyone who needed him. He had a deep passion for cooking, fishing, family, and fun. He was always pushing way too much food on everyone just to make sure they were 100% happy and satisfied to the point where I told him he was like an Italian grandmother. His generosity was unparalleled and his skill with regard to fishing was legendary.
I will miss his laughter and trying to get me moving at 5:00 AM to get out fishing. When we did go, he always had enough food for 10 guys even though there was only 2 or 3 of us. While on the boat, it was exceedingly rare to out catch him, regardless of species. I don't think Jim missed much of life - I've never known anyone else who was as fully engaged in everything they did. His feet hit the ground running every morning. He was also very highly respected at his work among his customers and his peers.
I will miss you Byro! My heart hangs very low in knowing you've passed. I am so very glad you touched my life in such a significant and positive way and that we got to spend countless hours together. I learned a lot and laughed a lot, and there were a few tears along the way too - but that's when you really know your friendship is a special one.
I love you Jim - until we meet again, my friend.
