Obituary of Magdalena Frances Meyers (Fran)
On February 23, 2021 at age 87 years. Predeceased by her parents, brother and sister in Germany. Survived by her husband of 67 years, Ken Meyers; their children Nancy (Jim) Gilman, Edward (Peg), and Robert (Livia); 8 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; extended family in US and Germany. Born in Germany, Fran came to America at the age of 12 to live with her Uncle Joe & Aunt Frances Istvan. She married Ken, the love of her life, in 1953, lovingly raised three children, and took great delight in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Fran loved to share her German heritage, passing down stories, pictures, and recipes her family will always treasure; she made the holidays extra special with her kuchens and “Grandma’s Buns” She enjoyed traveling and was an avid gardener. No weed dared grow; no flower, fruit, or vegetable ever failed to thrive under the care of her amazing green thumb.
Friends may call Friday, March 26th, 4:00 – 5:30 pm at the Funeral Home, please sign up to reserve time with the family. Mass of Christian burial Saturday, March 27th, 11:00 am, St John the Evangelist Church, 55 Martha St. Spencerport.
As per New York State rules please wear a mask for the visitation and church service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or to a charity of your choice in Fran's memory.
