Obituary of Lois E. Stone

Bergen- Gone too soon on May 23, 2023. Lois is predeceased by her cherished daughter, Laurie (Stone) Orto; mother, Elaine Seward; stepfather, Everett Seward; father, Dudley Tharnish; her brother, Donald Tharnish. She is survived by the love of a lifetime for nearly sixty five years, Edward (Ted) Stone. Their marriage was an inspiration to all who witnessed their love. Together they made the world a better place and will continue to do so through the lessons she taught us; children, Larry (Jan) Stone, Don Stone, Dan (Kari) Stone, Valerie (Daryl) Chesley, Brian (April) Stone; son-in-law, Robert Orto and her "adopted daughter", Michele Buccinna; grandchildren, Robert (Dana) Lawson, Ryan Stone, Andrew (Melinda) Stone, Michael (Bailey) Stone, Jacob Rosanno, Rachel (Adrian) Leal, Kayla (Ryan) Mooneyham, Krystie Stone, Catherine Stone, Hunter Leach, Sam Leach, Ella Stone, Teddy Stone, Shawna (Nick) Perkins, Alex Chesley, Keegan (Noah) Plain, Alayna Kelly, Aaron Inzinca, Maria (Zach) Semones, and last but not least Nicole Stone; great-grandchildren, Skylar Stone, Max Stone, June Mooneyham, James LaMere, Blair LaMere, Christian Perkins, and Kenton Perkins; sister and childhood best friend Peggy (Dennis) Tomski, as well as Shirley Parkin, and Maria (Travis) Gooden; nieces and nephews, including beloved Robert Kelsey and Denise Allgood. Her family extended to her many friends who shared a bond that was unique to each person.  
 
Lois was born on February 10, 1942. Loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to all. Lois's work was Stone's Countryside Tavern in Churchville, NY, which she founded in 1978. Her dedication to family, friends and the community was truly unmatched. 

The family will receive friends at the Grace Church of the Nazarene (2924 S. Union St. Rochester, NY 14624) on Saturday May 27th from 2-6 PM with a service immediately following. In lieu of flowers or donations, the family asks you to consider doing a random act of kindness in Lois's honor.
