Obituary of Janet Elaine Ruck
Hilton/ formally of Elba- passed away on Friday, August 11, 2023, at the age of 84. Janet is predeceased by her parents, niece, Felicia Dawn Ruck, and great nieces, Nichole and Hollie Ruck. She will be sorely missed by her companion of 35 years, Bonnie Pagel, who made sure Janet always lived her best life. She also leaves behind her forever best friend, sister, Pat (late Maynard) Priestley, and her brother Donald (Rosemarie) Ruck. Her legacy lives on in her nieces and nephew, Terry (Kevin) Novak, Michael Ruck, Donna (Shane) Seyler, Angela (Joe) Maniace, Vicki (late Bobby) Maid, Michele (David) Williams and Eva (Jesus) Crawford. Janet's great-nieces and nephews, Staci (Jamie) Bartz, Jeremy (Kim) Thompson, Stephanie Ruck, John (Staci) Williams, Andy (Maria Thompson, Jayme (Rocky) Mast, Robert Maid, Amy Williams, Amanda Maid, Erik (Dexter) Williams, Ashley Novak, Zachary Novak, Christopher (Barbara) Williams, Corey (Jessica) Crawford, Jenna (Daniel) Koss, Keith Parysek, Brent (Brittany) Crawford, Patrick (Whitney) Crawford, Breyana Crawford, and Allison Seyler. Janet also leaves behind great-great nieces and nephews Cody, Liliana, Kayleigh, Madison, Jayden, Katelynn, Rylie, Danielle, Zoey, Azaya, Hunter, Fayt, Summer, Jordynn, Emma, Kyleigh, Lilia, Andrew, Ryder, Aiden, Tucker, Annabelle, Skylar, Talia, Paisley, Maverick, DanniJo, Sofie, Alannah, Laney, and Beau. Her bonus Pagel family also grieves her loss, especially, her best buddy, Dayton, who always put a smile on Janet's face.
Janet was born April 18, 1939, the daughter of the late Elaine (Bridge) and Neal Ruck of Elba. Janet led an adventurous and successful life. Her success began at an early age when she was promoted to first grade after only one day in kindergarten. Janet graduated salutatorian of her class in Elba at the age of 17. She went on to graduate Suma Cum Laude from Brockport State College, with her teaching degree at the age of 20. Science was always her first love, and she spent 30 years with the Churchville Chili school district teaching, later becoming the head of the Science department. Janet enjoyed traveling and the outdoor life, and always enjoyed sharing her adventures with her family.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday, August 23, 2023, from 4 to 7 p.m., at Walker Brothers Funeral Home (15 West Ave, Spencerport, NY). A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, August 24, 2023, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association in Janet's memory.
