Obituary of Josephine Hartman

Spencerport: Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at the age of 92. She was predeceased by her husband John Hartman and her parents, Frank and Anna Nicholas. She is survived by her sons, Dennis and Bobby Hartman; her grandchildren, Andrew (Keri) Hartman, Faith (Greg) Richards and Jacob Hartman; great granddaughters, Kayli Hartman and Kody Richards; her sister, Mary Engels; many special close friends including Marci Lipinski. Jo lived in Spencerport for over 41 years where she was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church. She is best described by her two sons as loving and very patient. Jo absolutely loved to cook, Italian foods, bake cookies, white garlic pizza, (which was to die for according to her son Dennis) and doing this all from scratch. Jo considered holidays to be important and a very special time for her and her family. Jo loved to play cards and taught her son Dennis how to play various different cards games, like the game "Lucky" and did so, well into to her 80's. Over 50 years ago Jo worked with her sister Mary, Engels, as a Beautician at a Salon on the corner of Chili Avenue and Post Avenue in the City of Rochester. Last but not least Jo would want everyone to know "Go Yankees!" Josephine's visitation will be held (Today) Friday 4-7 PM at the Funeral Home, 15 West Avenue, Spencerport, NY 14559. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 11:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist Church, 55 Martha Street, Spencerport, NY 14559. Interment St. John's Cemetery.
