Nan grew up in the small town of Dannemora, NY. She went to work at Dannemora State Hospital and later Clinton Correctional Facility as a Clerk and Dictation Machine Transcriber. She retired in 1983. She was passionate in her faith and was active in St. John's Roman Catholic Church. She belonged to the Lazarus Committee, a women's group that provides luncheons for funerals. She belonged to the Sonshine Club sending cards to the homebound and the Faith Formation Group at St. John as well. She was also part of the Ogden Senior Center. Family was at the center of Nan's life and she was devoted to her children as they are to her. She enjoyed spending time with her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids. She loved talking to friends and family on the phone and through email. She liked cooking and baking and she was famous for her Nana's banana bread. She enjoyed her Sunday Dinners with her family. The best way to describe Nan is that she was friendly, generous, hard working, energetic, independent and strong. She was a sharp witted matriarch, who loved being a Mom, Nana and Nan and she will surely be missed by her family and by all whose lives she touched.
