Marilyn is predeceased by her husband, Robert G. Smith; son, Paul Smith; daughter, Nancy Smith. She is survived by her children, Martha Smith, Sandra (Mark) Ritter, Norma (Charles) Dunn, Robert J. (Michael S. Wheeler) Smith; 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; brother, Kenneth (Maria) Kerber; sister-in-law, Doris (Richard) Kerber-Grabb; several nieces and nephews. Marilyn's family will receive family and friends Thursday 10 AM at Reformation Lutheran Church, 111 N. Chestnut St. Followed by her interment in Riga Cemetery. Donations may be made to establish the Marilyn Smith Memorial Scholarship to Student Nurses, Monroe Community Foundation C/O Marilyn Smith Memorial Scholarship, 228 E. Main St., Rochester, NY 14604. Marilyn was committed to everything in her life that was important to her. She was a loving and supportive mother and grandmother. Her family and her friends meant the world to her. Marilyn's family and friends always came first. She always looked forward to family clam bakes and spending time with her family during the holidays, especially during the Christmas season. She was an active volunteer. Marilyn was a Girl Scout Leader and she volunteered as a Nurse at Camp Joy. She was a founder and an active volunteer for Friends and Family of the Mentally Ill here in Rochester, NY. Marilyn was dedicated to her profession. She proudly served St. John's Home as it's night Nursing Supervisor. Marilyn enjoyed her games of chance. She enjoyed playing the lotto, bingo and she especially enjoyed playing cards. Marilyn was strong, resilient, a caregiver, leader, matriarch and truly loved life and lived it to the fullest. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
