Obituary of Steven Wilkins

North Chili: Steven D. Wilkins, God's Faithful servant, was called home to his Heavenly reward on January 8, 2014. He was born March 6, 1939, in the Town of Clarksville, NY. Steve graduated from Portville Central High School and St. Bonaventure University. Predeceased by his parents, Darrol & Ethel Wilkins; brother, Donald Wilkins. Steve is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Patricia A. Wilkins; son, Robert D. Wilkins; daughter, Marcia L. (Tim) Poliniak; sister, Mary Lee (Jerry) Gleason of Bolivar, NY; sister-in-law, Pamela (Donald) Wilkins of Lakeland, FL; four grandchildren, Billy & Michael (Brandee) Beck, Joseph & Nicholas Poliniak; one great-granddaughter, Karli Jane Beck. His patience and unconditional love will be greatly missed by his numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, & cousins. Steve and his family resided in the Rochester area since 1962 and he was an employee at Eastman Kodak for 25 years. He was a member of Pearce Memorial Free Methodist Church in North Chili, New York, and served in many capacities of finance. In 1997, Steve and Pat started spending their winters in Lakeland, Florida, where they became a vital part of the Light and Life Park. They were also privileged to assist missionaries in Haiti, Kenya and Burundi, working with the International Child Care Ministries in the area of finance. Steve's desire was to love and serve the Lord, which he did faithfully. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 11, at 11 AM at Pearce Memorial Free Methodist Church, 4322 Buffalo Rd, North Chili. In lieu of flowers, Steve's wishes were that donations be made to Hildebrandt Hospice Care Center, c/o Lifetime Care Hospice, 3111 Winton Road South, Rochester, NY 14623 or to the Free Methodist Foundation Wilkins Child Care Endowment, PO Box 580, Spring Arbor, MI 49283 in his memory.
