Dick was born on August 27, 1932 in Rochester, NY to Stanley & Anne Cieslinski. As a youngster, music was his life. He played accordian and also played in a local band. After completing high school, Dick enlisted in the US Army on November 24, 1952. He served in Korea in artillery and auto maintenance. He was a highly decorated soldier, earning the Korean Service medal with 1 bronze star, the United Nations Service Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal.
His passions in life included his family, woodworking, machine tool, gardening, reading, and doing crossword puzzles. He loved taking motor trips to California. Dick enjoyed watching M*A*S*H and public television in his spare time.
Family and friends would best describe Dick as someone who lived life to the fullest and found something good out of every day. He was quiet and reserved, but also was gentle and compassionate. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
