Leitten, Edward N.
North Chili: Born April 26, 1919 - Died April 2, 2015. Predeceased by his wife, Anna M. (McClenathan) Leitten, his mother Rose (Gaulocher) Leitten and his father Charles Leitten and his eight brothers Carl, Kenneth, Howard, Arthur, Robert, Harry, Joseph and Franklyn Leitten. He is survived by his brother Eugene (Joan) Leitten and numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. He also leaves behind his beloved dog, Kix, who has been his constant companion for the last several years.
Ed was born in Buffalo NY and grew up in Hamburg. There he met his wife Anna, whom he married in December 1941. Ed had a career as a funeral director in Mattydale (Syracuse) NY, helping families in their times of need. He was a partner in the Leitten-Krueger Funeral Home and the sole owner of the Leitten Funeral Home.
He and his wife retired to Pittsboro NC, where Ed distinguished himself as a tennis player and was featured in a 1989 Chicago Tribune article as the star bocce player in his community.
A committal service is planned at S.S. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Hamburg NY and a memorial mass at St. Vincent de Paul, his home parish, in the near future. No viewing is scheduled.
