Daphne Lamb, 94, died October 24, 2017 at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center, as the result of injuries sustained in an auto accident.
Daphne was born on April 27, 1923 in London, England, and was the daughter of the late Percival G. Hayter and Edna M. Beer Hayter. While in England, Mrs. Lamb was a member of the Women's Royal Navel Service, British Military and served during World War II. She met her husband, John Conner, from the United States during that time as he was serving for the US Air Force. After the war, Daphne and John came to live in the United States in New York State. They enjoyed many activities together with traveling being one of their favorites. John preceded Daphne in death in 1975.

Daphne worked for many years for the United Way of Greater Rochester as a Controller until her retirement. In July of 1986, Daphne married Fred F. Lamb,  a fellow Rochester resident. They were married for 26 years until his death in 2012. Fred and Daphne loved playing golf and traveling as well as spending time with friends and family. Until just a few years ago, Daphne continued to enjoy golfing, bowling and walking daily. Daphne loved spending time with friends, visiting family and attending her Red Hat Group lunches. She loved life and her smile and twinkling eyes lifted all who had the pleasure to know her. Daphne will be missed by all who knew and loved her generous spirit.

Survivors include her nephew, Michael Hayter (Kathy) from Canton, GA; Philip Hayter (Helen) from Pflugerville, TX, as well as a stepson, Robert C. Lamb (Karen) of Rochester, NY; step daughter, Barbara Carder of Hilton, NY and step daughter Carole Hondorf (Timothy) of Rochester, NY.
