Gary was one of the smartest people I have ever meet, but never acted greater then anyone else.
I often tell his story of the Reserve Center ordering the wrong advancement exam for him and he still advanced.
It saddens me to know a great man and Sailor is gone.

I will miss your infectious smile and quick wit. When I came to NOSC Rochester we made a quick connection as Submariners do. You are one of the smartest men I've ever met. Your knowledge of Naval history is second to none. Rest easy shipmate we have the watch.

My heartfelt sympathies to you and your family. I didn't realize that "Chatty" Gary was your husband. I had the pleasure of going through his line at Tops on many occasions. His kindness was very apparent. May God's comfort and strengthen be with each of you.
As I sit thinking about Gary the only memory that I come up with consistently is that it didn't matter what topic I would bring up... he had a story to go with it.
