Shirley J. (Shirl) Greenblatt  (Slate)

Peacefully on February 5, 2020. Predeceased by parents, Eugene & Rhea Slate; sister, Marilyn Bailey; son, Robert Greenblatt. Survived by her husband of 56 years, Joel D. Greenblatt; children, David Greenblatt, Rick (Michelle) Greenblatt; daughter in law, Mary Greenblatt; grandchildren, Joshua, Michael, Drew, Adam; brother in laws and sister in laws, Sam (Judy) Greenblatt, Matt (Sally) Greenblatt, Pete Bailey.

Shirley was born September 23, 1943 in Alexandria Bay, NY to Eugene and Rhea Slate. She grew up with her older sister, Marilyn and in 1961 moved to Rochester, NY and attended Rochester Business Institute. She worked as a Secretary until 1970 when Shirley and her husband, Joel, purchased and operated the Town Pump General Store for 9 years. From 1979 to today Shirley and Joel created and operated Town Pump Recycling. In her spare time Shirley enjoyed snowmobiling and reading.

 

Visitation will be Sunday, February 9 from 12-4 PM at the funeral home 15 West Ave. Spencerport. Shirley’s Funeral Service will be Monday, February 10, 11:00 AM at the funeral home at 21 South Main St. Churchville.

 

Interment in Creekside Cemetery.

 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Golisano Children’s Hospital, 300 East River Rd, P.O. Box 278996 Rochester, NY 14627 in Shirley’s memory.
