Obituary of Gerald E. Dean

Gerald Edward Dean

Spencerport

With sadness in our hearts, Gerald went to be with our Lord on May 1, 2020. He is proceeded by his parents, Charles, and Esther Dean; brother, Clifford Dean; Sister Eleanor Jones Post. Survived by his sisters, Gloria Alan, Joyce (Thomas) Plucknette and dearly loved by his many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews the Deans, Jones, Beaney’s and Plucknette’s.  Orphaned as a young boy, Gerald was sadly placed in the Newark State School for the mentally defective at the age of 18. In 1965, Gerald was first given the opportunity to work in Marion, NY for a farmer, Marinus Michielsen who over the next 7 years worked side by side with Gerald, he taught him how to tell time, write his name and record milk weights. In 1972 Michielsen worked to have Gerald released from Newark and over the next 13 years he educated, loved, and cared for Gerald. Our family will forever be grateful for his generosity and kindness.  In 1987 Gerald became a member of the Lifetime Assistance family and at the time of his passing he was both the oldest client and client with the most years in the Lifetime Assistance community. To the many Lifetime Assistance employees who loved and cared for Gerald over these past 33 years, we thank you for the love, kindness and caring. Gerald will be remembered for untiring work ethic, the joy he brought to any event he attended, his laughter and his love of family.
