My condolences to Kathy and the entire Buckner family. As the vocational rehabilitation counselor at the Rochester District Office of the New York State Workers' Compensation Board for 29 years until retirement March 2003, i got to know Ray well. During those years there was an attorney room where the comp attorneys could gather and work on their cases, socialize etc. Ray was one of the personalities who would "hold court" so to speak. He was quite the personality. He was always welcoming and a great conversationalist. When I started a professional rehabilitation group with another rehab professional in 1988, one of our first meetings was on workers' compensation law. One of the two attorneys we asked to present to our group was Ray. It was a great meeting and helped launch our group to a ten year run of success. Ray was a well respected workers compensation attorney and had a very successful career. I will miss him.
