Our condolences go out to Dave's entire family. Tom & I were shocked & saddened upon hearing of his passing. He was not only the "man to go to" when we had automobile or truck issues, he was also a friend. We went to him for the twenty years we lived in Spencerport. We ran into him up at Abe's on the Ridge one night & chatted with he & his wife for a bit. You could not find a more honest & caring man than Dave. I remember sending my niece to him when she was having car problems, after the fact it supposedly was fixed where she used to go! She made the appointment & went to Dave's & upon fixing the problem, he would not take any money because she had already paid to have it repaired, but at another place!! She couldn't leave without paying him & when she got home, she called to tell me what a great guy he was. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him, but I know with his passing that Heaven has received another Angel. God Bless him always.

A memory from John Speers:::::
I worked for Dave’s Dad on Saturdays at the Gulf station at the corner of Union and Rt 31 from 1959-1961. One day Dave was hanging around the station so that he could be with his dad. I wasn’t paying much attention, but after awhile I noticed that he had found an old lawn mower engine, and was playing with it. I didn’t think much about this until later, But then I was surprised that he had taken the whole engine apart including the inside components. I thought then how could he have done this at such a young age? I don’t recall if he ever re-assembled it but I have often thought over the years that this was a remarkable accomplishment. I guess that day may have contributed to him later embarking on a very successful career and business.
Good going Dave.
Blessings and love to all of his family.

Our condolences to the whole family. We have been friends with the Resch Family going way back to his Dad and numerous tractor shows. I also had the honor of being Dave's children's bus driver. He will be greatly missed. We will keep the whole family in our thoughts and prayers.

I learned a lot about the integrity of a man through Dave. I live 1.5 miles away from the shop and walked to drop off and pick up my vehicle. I once dropped off a vehicle into the shop for electrical issues, expecting the worse. On my way home I stopped in to pay for the services. The cost was a fraction of what I was expecting. It turned out to be an electrical connection issue rather than a part replacement. I knew at that time Dave was a person I could trust. When Spencerport Canal Days was attempting to restart a Car Show in 2000, Dave became a sponsor and stuck with us through our growing pains. I retired 2 years ago and stopped dropping off my vehicles, opting to wait during inspections. It was mastery to watch Dave juggle the daily deliveries, customers, employees, and phones, while remaining cool and focused on the customer. I will miss Dave's smile and calm voice. I wish to extend my sympathies to the Resch family on behalf of myself and Spencerport Canal Days during this difficult time.

Anne Marie and I want to offer our prayers and condolences to Dave's family. Dave was a good man, patient, kind and honest. Our dealings with Resch Auto go back to the days when Dave's father ran the business. He was a big part of the Spencerport community, and will be sorely missed. I know Andy will continue to follow in Dave's footsteps with the same dedication to our community, when running the business. May God bless Dave, and support the family with his love.

Dave has been a good friend to the Spencerport Community forever. In addition, he provided a wonderful service at Resch Auto to so many of us with Son Andy, to whom he passed along his generous, beautiful heart.
Thank you for giving my son a job in your shop and helping him to grow his career in auto mechanics. Thank you for always asking after my family, thank you for taking such excellent care of my car. Thank you for treating me as a friend, not just a customer. Love and prayers to the whole Resch Family.

We have know Dave and family since 1985 when moved to Spencerport. We took our car there upon the recommendation of people in the church. We have done business there ever since. I found him easy to talk with and honest as the day is long. He worked with us when we tried to assist people who needed help getting their car repaired. Dave was also a good neighbor.
Our prayers are with the family. May God grant comfort and peace.

Dave and Jan coached Odessey of Mind for many years when our children were in Spencerport High School together. What a wonderful job they did! Great coaching and guidance for the too soon-to-be adults! Thank you!
And zoom the years went by. Now our children have children old enough to join OM.
Dave will be sincerely missed. His loss will be a loss for not only his family but also for Spencerport. He is part of the fabric of the community.

My thoughts and prayers are with the family of Dave. What a kind and decent man he was. I've know Dave for years through the Brockport Yacht Club, and he was always there to help out or offer words of encouragement. A quick vignette to illustrate this point.:
Some years back it was time for us to haul out our boats down at the club. It was the end of the season and this usually meant bringing in a commercial crane and having crews of club members hook up the boats and set them in the parking lot on jackstands. Well,.back then I was pulling out my boat with the club crane on site and not the commercial crane that was brought in. This meant that I did not need to use the commercial crane or be there with Dave and the others for haul-out. Anyways, Dave (who was in charge of the haul-out) and the others accidentally pulled out my boat and set it on my trailer. Some were a little bit annoyed that I wasn't there to help pull out my own boat or set up the pads on my cradle but, like I said earlier, I was planning on pulling out my boat at a later date.
While others were annoyed, Dave was understanding and patient. And when they discovered the mistake they made in accidentally pulling out my boat, it was Dave who called up my house and, sounding like a chastened schoolboy in that deep voice, profusely apologized for the mistake. .The man had done me a huge favor (hauling out boats can be a royal pain) and was apologizing for it. I still laugh when I think about it and can still hear his voice on the phone. Dave was a good and decent man. He will be sorely missed.

I knew Dave since 2000 when I moved to Spencerport and brought my car in for service. He was honest, hard-working, and fair. And when I couldn't afford to pay all at once, he would let me pay payments. I appreciated his candor and good spirits; in fact I don't think I ever saw him in a bad mood. My thoughts, prayers, and sympathy for his wife and family. He will be missed...
