Obituary of Gail L. Gates

Spencerport, NY/ Palmetto, FL- Gail passed away on March 19, 2021 from unexpected complications. She was hospitalized at Manatee Memorial Hospital, in Florida, for 32 days. She is pre-deceased by her parents John and Olive Kurtz, her in-laws F. Leslie and Catherine Gates and her son, Daniel A. Gates.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Ross Gates, her daughter, Trisha Gates-Walter, grandsons, Daniel A. Gates ll, William R. Walter, James C. Fico ll and her great-granddaughter, Giana Marie Walter, her sister Nancy and brother-in-law Gary Thering, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many close friends.

Gail was loving, nurturing and extremely protective of those she cared about! The love she had for her family meant everything to her...and she always had a way of making everyone feel comfortable with just her smile!

Gail will be sadly missed by her family and lifelong friends...all of which loved her and have shared special memories and laughs throughout the years. Those moments will always be cherished and held close to our hearts. That is what she would have wanted.

Calling hours for family and friends will be held at Walker Brother’s Funeral Home in Spencerport, on Saturday, May 8th from 10:00 am-12:30 pm. A short memorial service to follow.
