Obituary of Loretta L. Schumacher

Loretta “Lori” Schumacher passed away on February 13, 2023, at the age of 84.  She is survived by her loving children, Susan Sherry, Donna Deiter (Buck), Debra (Greg) Maccallini, Thomas Schumacher, and Cindy (Randy) Eamer; grandchildren, Anthony Buck, Andrew Buck, Alicia Sherry (Larry Quirk II), Casey Eamer and James Maccallini; great-grandchildren, Breanna, Brittany, Izzy, and Ellie Buck. She is predeceased by her parents, Casimir and Theodosia Gembalski. She is survived by her brother, Richard Gembalski, and many extended family members whom she loved so much.

She was born and raised in Buffalo, NY, and later moved to Rochester, NY. Loretta was a retired health and physical education teacher at multiple City of Rochester and City of Buffalo schools. Her passion was helping children become the best they could be. She also volunteered as an EMT in the Town of Richmond/Honeoye, NY. It was Loretta’s wish to not have calling hours.

Loretta will be laid to rest on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at 1 pm at Westside Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Scottsville, NY. 

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in loving memory of Loretta Schumacher.
