Obituary of William "Bill" Wright

Rochester: Passed away on September 20, 2023 at age 77. Predeceased by his wife, Karen (Dunbar) Wright; parents, Stanley & Hortense Wright; brother, David Wright; godson, Chris Karnes; Claire Simmons. Bill is survived by his daughter, Christine (Dan) Hargarther; sons, Bob (Ann Marie) Simmons, Mark (Lisa) Simmons; goddaughter, Cynthia Wright; step-sons, David Unger, Jamie (Kelley) Unger; 6 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sister, Carol Wright Karnes; brothers, John (Barb) Wright and Michael Wright; sister-in-law, Carol Wright; many adored nieces and nephews. Bill was a lifelong Gates Resident and a Volunteer FireFighter at Gates Fire District Company 2. 

Bill Wright was a remarkable person who left a positive impact on the lives of many. It's heartwarming to hear about the funny memories and the enduring relationships he built over the years. Bill's dedication to his job, love for volunteering and zest for life are commendable qualities. May his memory bring all who knew him comfort and smiles as we remember the special moments shared with him. Rest in peace, Bill Wright.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 28, 2023 from 4-7 PM at the funeral home, (15 West Ave Spencerport, 14559) His Funeral Mass will be held on Friday at 10 AM at St. John the Evangelist Church (55 Martha St, Spencerport). Interment will be at Parma Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Wild Wings Bird Rescue in memory of Bill.
