Obituary of Daniel Lee (Hutchinson) Shulla

Passed into Spirit on October 5, 2023, and spent his last days at home with family, after a long hospitalization. Dan is survived by wife, Barbara (McKinney) Shulla; He was proud to be step-dad to Bryan Chapman and Shaun Chapman, and Dad to Amanda (Will) Crum and Charles Holder. His precious grandchildren are Conner Chapman, Rae Lee Holder, Robert Holder, Reimund Crum, Lilith Uhrig and Phoenix R. Uhrig, with siblings Frank (Lucy) Shulla, Mark (Bonnie) Shulla Sr. , Tim (Becky) Miller and Robert Olmstead,  as well as many nieces, nephews, Hunka relations and countless Sundance brothers and sisters. Dan is predeceased by wife Renee Freeman Shulla, beloved grandparents Gerald and Blanche Hutchinson of Williamson NY, his parents Francis and Christina Shulla, siblings Terry J. Shulla Sr. (USN/ Ret), Janice E. James, Pamela R. Gartman, sister-in-law Titana Shulla, nephew John W. Gartman and niece Christina Hill.  Dan was a career USN Hospital Corpsman FMF (ret), currently active in Veteran and Native American communities, who also staffed at Vet’s Journey Home and volunteered with American Red Cross Monroe County Mobile and Disaster Response Teams. Dan was a member of the National Association of Medics and Corpsmen (lifetime member and past National Chaplain) USS Whidby Island Association and American Legion. 

Dan’s funeral will be held Saturday, October 21st at Walker Brothers Funeral Home in Spencerport, NY. 11-2 with Honor Guard and a Memorial service directly afterward, during which the public will be invited to say a few words on his behalf, if they wish.
