Lynn, Alison, and Andrew,
I'm so sorry for your loss, and will continue to pray for you through this difficult time!
I'm so thankful for the blessing of having known Mike over so many years. He was a great youth group leader, connecting with me and others through sports and games. He was available and willing to listen, and he would share wisdom and encouragement at the right times. I enjoyed working with him as part of the cast for Pearce Easter musicals. (except for when he broke his foot jumping from a higher to a lower stage!)
His faith, courage, and perseverance as he battled health issues were inspirational. I hope you will always remember how many lives he impacted!
Love and prayers,
Ron

I am grieved to hear of “Uncle” Mike’s passing, but I take comfort in the fact that it is a passing through death into everlasting life in the presence of Christ. Mike was a devoted husband and father and a wonderful friend to my parents. From an early age, he modeled for me the faithfulness, graciousness and compassion of the Christian life, especially through the continual challenges with his health. Most of all, he has served as a potent testament to the harsh but necessary reality that the way of the Cross often comes with hardship and suffering, greater than we can possibly bear on our own merits and strength alone, but all the same is enclosed within the deeper reality of a God who died and rose for us. May his memory be a blessing, and I look forward to the eternal reunion of a restored creation. My prayers are with Lynn, Alison, Andrew and the rest of Mike’s family and friends. May the Lord whose Cross opened the way to Paradise give you comfort and peace in this time of sorrow, and prove His promises to be true.

Mike was a man of God who's steadfast Faith was a shining example to everyone who knew him. His love and committment to his family was evident to us all. We are blessed to have known him. Mike was blessed with many talents, yet he didn't use them to bring attention to himself but to give generously to others. We will miss him but we are comforted that his battles are over and he is now in the presence of his Savior, free of pain and the struggles he endured. We will continue to lift Lynn, Alison and Andrew up in prayer through this time of great loss.

I met Michael and his family through Doug Miller soccer. Our sons played together, allowing us many opportunities to chat at practices and games. I was touched by two things most ... how present and thoughtful he was in a conversation, and how strong and positive he was in the face of major health challenges . He listened fully, sharing a sparkling smile always, (I can still "see" it :)) and received supportive words with grace and gratitude. His kindness and gentle way was so touching... I will always remember him for this. I am grateful to have met him and his beautiful family. Wishing so much love, peace and joyful memories to Lynn, Andrew and Alison.

I will always remember Mike (and Lynn) as one of our youth leaders at Pearce Memorial FM Church. He was so much fun and silly to be around. He related really well with us teenagers. At one of our retreats, a group of kids were hanging out with Mike and laughing as he told us humorous stories of his teenage years. He really understood us and cared about us. He made us feel important and we knew that he had our back.
Later as an adult, Mike taught our Sunday School class at Pearce. It was a blessing to continue to have Mike be a big part of my life even then as he truly cared about his friends. It was faith building to see Mike go through so much with his diabetes, yet continued to trust the Lord with each obstacle he faced. I feel truly blessed to have known Mike and will be looking forward to seeing him again one day in Heaven.
Lynn, Alison, and Andrew, I'm praying for you all and am so sorry for your loss♥
With love,
Wendy
