Jane was born on July 3, 1925 in Rochester, NY, her parents were Veronica Beounitis and George Luke, she had 7 brothers and 3 sisters. Jane graduated from Franklin High School. She met the man of her dreams in Daniel Downes, waited for him to return from WWII. They were married in 1946 at St. Michael’s Cathedral in Rochester, NY.  A blind date set up by her sister Lillian is how it all began and family was her life as she raised their 5 children, Eileen, Daniel, Bonnie, John and Margie.  Saturday night “dates”, sweethearts forever, loved to create parties for holidays and special occasions, sewed and loved her home that they built with “blood, sweat and tears” in 1955.  Jane loved cooking, baking, music also dancing and above all her family, she made all holidays and celebrations very FESTIVE!  She was excellent at playing the piano, typist, polka dancing, loved to travel and see the US.  Her favorite show was Lawrence Welk. Jane was gracious but spoke her mind, optimist, devoted Christian/Catholic always relied on Jesus to carry her through. Loved her guardian angel.
