My family lived up the street (Continental Drive) from the Hoppes. They were the nicest, kindest people you could know.
Pat and her beloved doggies! The pictures in the attached memorial video bring back such pleasant memories. Pat holding her dog was in the timeframe when I was in Rochester. I was kindergarten age and Pat and John seemed to take a special liking to me, being a little boy and such. I have often fondly thought of the Hoppes after we left Rochester.

Aunt Pat was such a sweet and gentle lady. John was my fathers brother (dad passed away on November 8 of this year at the age of 96). Since John and Pat had no children of their own, they pretty much spoiled the nieces and nephews whenever possible.... their gifts were always highly antiscipated because they were so unusual ... a telephone operators consol, a B.B. gun, etc. in 1965, the whole family — Hoppe’s, Hicks and more — went to the Worlds Fair in NY. An amazing adventure! Pat and John often visited chattanooga and knoxville when we were younger... John and Pat came to see my band a couple of times when I traveled (Kentucky, other states too)... I visited their home in Spencerport in the late 70’s, and got to see Rochester and Kodak landmarks ... as well as view their basement where John’s Kodak archives and related stories dwelled... about 10 years ago, pat sent me a hymn that my grandfather (a Methodist minister) had written... it meant the world to me. So sad to hear that Aunt Pat passed away recently , not far behind our own father which was her brother in law ( she was married to our Dad's brother). My brother was named after Par's husband John too.
She was a very kind and sweet lady.
Wish we could have visited with her more.
I still have in my china cabinet the gift they gave Eddie and I for a wedding gift... A Waterford sugar and creamer .
May she be remembered for her kind heart and loving ways. Much love and deepest sympathy. Debbie Hoppe Lawson

Although I have not seen Pat for several years, I have many happy memories with her and my Uncle John in years past. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
