Bobbi and I worked together at Schenectady Family Health Center in upstate NY. I moved to NY from Miami and I knew nothing about snow. One "prank" she pulled on me was telling me that a light snow storm was really a blizzard. I believed her and sent all of the staff home!! Pulled a good one on me, Bobbi! But seriously, Bobbi was an example to us all about what it means to truly treat people with unconditional positive regard. Whether it be a homeless person, the janitor, doctors, or anyone, Bobbi was consistently kind and compassionate. Another way that Bobbi served as an advocate was that she was the President of the Union at SFHS. This job was hard and many times it was thankless. But, there are people out there today who got a fair deal at their workplace because Bobbi fought hard for them.
I reconnected with Bobbi many years later as she and Ann Schwartz became my technical assistance providers! Ann and Bobbi were an amazing team! It was great to see how much Bobbi was loved by her peers and those that she served and that she still was consistently kind and compassionate (and damn smart, by the way).
To Ted, the boys, her sisters, and all who loved her so, I am so so sorry that you lost your amazing loved one. I hope that these condolences people write will be a comfort to you as you hear what Bobbi meant to so many people. She truly was a rock steady friend and colleague.
