I feel blessed that I can call Florence my friend. I didn't realize that when I walked into her home for the first time that this wonderful woman would become a part of my life. She shared memories from her past and I was amazed at how she became an independent woman raising four boys. She was proud of her job, her home and her sons.
Florence gave me a reason to laugh every time I visited. She would joke about herself, someone on the television, or an article in the newspaper. She definitely had strong feelings about political leaders!
I know that Florence is where she wants to be but I will miss her in my life. She encouraged me to enjoy my family and to enjoy life. She advised me not to live past 90. And she taught me to say goodbye as though it's the last time, every time.
