Obituary of Joan A. Davis
Joan Zurick Davis
Joan was born on October 20, 1935, passed away January 12, 2021. She was the beloved wife of Ronald Davis with whom she enjoyed a loving and eventful 58 year marriage. She leaves behind her brother, John (Adrienne) Zurick; her son, Ron (Nannette) Davis; daughters, Meg (Doug) Hill, Anna (James) Sapienza, and Mary (Jed) Hanna; 10 grandchildren, John and Alex Davis, Zack and Garrett Hill, Derek, Cara and Daniel Sapienza and Erin, Annie and Megan Hanna; 2 great grandchildren, Jack Hill and Violet Sapienza who brought a smile to her face when visiting her; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Joan was a dynamic and progressive woman who finished her teaching degree after raising 4 children. She taught successfully and passionately in the Hilton School District for close to 30 years. Joan enjoyed golfing, was a voracious reader, and loved socializing. Joan’s main focus was on her husband, children and grandchildren. Always a towering presence with a ready laugh at family gatherings, she will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
Joan will have a private Catholic ceremony and a celebration of her life will be held at a later date when it’s safe to gather.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made on her behalf to the Ronald McDonald House of Rochester.
